View Full Version : Not exactly a poem...

...But I started playing Bob Dylan's song of the same title the other night and these alternative words seemed to come to me from nowhere. Those of you who've heard it will see that I seem subconciously to have almost turned the song on it's head...

Don't think twice, it's alright

It does no good to sit and wonder why babe
Something that I'm learning now
It does no good to sit and wonder why babe
and it never did, somehow
the times I've thought about you as I watched the dawn...
Had something special once, but now it's gone
Time was I didn't want to travel on
But don't think twice, it's alright

Ain't no use in thinking 'if's' or 'might's' babe
or thinking or over stuff that's owed...
ain't no sense in losing sleep each night babe
cause I know you're on a better road
I wish that there was something I could do or say
to right my wrongs and bring you happiness today
But no regrets is what you always say
Don't think twice it's alright

Ain't no use my calling out your name girl
like I never did before
Ain't no use in calling out your name girl
You don't need me anymore
And as you're a-travelling along life's winding road
and selflessly protect and love the children that you hold
Promise me you'll never leave yourself trapped in the cold
and DON'T think twice, it's ALRIGHT.

Find the love you need, and do it for me...
Where you're bound, wish I could tell
Only cause I want you to be happy
And with all my heart I wish you well
Wish that I could undo all the times I seemed unkind
It wasn't what I meant to be, but now it's all behind
Above all, hope you find the life you need to find
(and when you do):
Don't think twice, it's alright.

Don't think twice, it's alright.

I came up with these words in a matter of minutes, almost like they were being given to me somehow.

That's never happened to me before.
